TallyPrime licence
The installed accounting product. Official setup remains download, install and start.
TallyPrime is built around accounting inside Tally. Cyntrova is built around the transaction moving across the business, supplier, finance team and CA—before it reaches the books.
TallyPrime is credible after the work reaches Tally. Cyntrova is designed to own the connected path that creates, prepares, reviews and then records the transaction.
If your problem is fragmented financial work—not merely ledger entry—Cyntrova is the stronger operating model.Every extra layer creates another prerequisite, renewal, setup surface or operational dependency. This is the workflow tax hidden behind a simple feature checklist.
The installed accounting product. Official setup remains download, install and start.
Starts at ₹600/month + 18% GST. TallyPrime licence is explicitly required separately.
A separate plug-in requiring TallyPrime 7.0+, valid licence, active TSS and a page quota.
Third-party apps cannot be installed in the cloud VM; sync runs through a local Windows computer and is currently permissioned to one user.
Useful capabilities, but assembled around Tally rather than designed as one browser-first financial operating model.
Official sources: Cloud Access pricing and licence requirement, Cloud Access integration FAQ, Docs by Ira requirements and quota, and Bharat Connect plug-in setup. Prices exclude applicable taxes and can change.
Tally’s own documentation calls Bharat Connect an NBBL platform that works across ERP systems—and places the experience under Tally Plug-Ins & Add-Ons.
This matrix focuses on what changes day-to-day financial operations: access, native transaction movement, evidence continuity, automation and collaboration.
TallyPrime has established core accounting and documented bank reconciliation. Cyntrova does too. Those are table stakes; they do not answer which product delivers the stronger connected operating model.
| Decision point | CYNTROVAConnected operating model | TALLYPRIMECurrent documented approach |
|---|---|---|
| 01Everyday access | ✓Browser-firstOne shared workspace Business, finance team and authorised CA work in role-aware context. | +Desktop + separate cloud serviceWindows-first product The official download is for Windows 7+ 64-bit. TallyPrime Cloud Access is separately purchased and runs TallyPrime on a virtual computer. |
| 02AI document preparation | ✓Native workflowBuilt into the review path External documents become reviewable drafts inside the same workspace. | +Plug-in + prerequisitesDocs by Ira is not the base workflow It requires TallyPrime 7.0+, a valid licence, active TSS and currently an Indian licence. |
| 03Document intake | ✓Two native pathsStructured when connected; AI when external Cyntrova does not reconstruct a transaction from a PDF when the original structured data can move directly. | !Documented constraintsThe batch has rules before review begins One transaction per file, one voucher type per import, and a maximum of 10 app files sent per batch. |
| 04Source after posting | ✓Retained contextEvidence stays attached to the workflow The source, review state and accounting decision remain part of the record context. | ×Unavailable after conversionImported evidence stays available Tally’s FAQ says the imported PDF or image cannot be viewed once the voucher becomes part of the books. |
| 05Buyer ↔ seller flow | ✓Core product modelOne transaction, two controlled books Structured seller data can become a connected buyer’s review-ready purchase while each business controls its own accounting. | +External network + plug-inNot native to the TallyPrime core Bharat Connect is an NBBL platform. Tally requires a downloaded plug-in, Tally.NET access, GSTIN registration, a B2B ID and a counterparty registered on that external network. |
| 06Business + CA collaboration | ✓Same workspaceCollaboration is part of the operating model The business owns the workspace and grants its CA the relevant working context. | +Setup-dependentRemote access adds another layer Cloud access, user setup and the chosen company-data model determine how teams collaborate remotely. |
Score shown above applies only to the six named connected-workflow criteria in this table; it is not a universal product rating. Tally claims and constraints were reviewed against official material on 14 September 2026: TallyPrime download, Cloud Access setup, Docs by Ira FAQ, Bharat Connect for Business and Banking Utilities. Product versions, plans and prerequisites can change.
These advantages are structural. They reduce reconstruction, switching and context loss around the books.
No Windows installation plus separately purchased virtual computer plus document plug-in just to assemble the modern workflow.
When seller and buyer are connected, original structured transaction data moves forward. OCR is reserved for outside documents.
The source and review context remain useful after accounting. Tally’s own FAQ says a Docs by Ira file cannot be viewed after the voucher enters the books.
Business, accounting team, counterparty and authorised CA work around the same transaction context—not a chain of disconnected handoffs.
Docs by Ira and Cloud Access add useful capabilities, but their current documented operating boundaries matter in real accounting teams.
TallyPrime 7.0+, a valid licence, active TSS and an Indian licence are required. Exhausted document quota requires a plan upgrade.
Official source →Different voucher types cannot be imported together, and the TallyIra app sends a maximum of 10 files per batch.
Official source →No multilingual invoice support, no bank-statement import, no direct Drive/OneDrive import, and Word/Excel must first be converted to PDF.
Official source →Tally’s FAQ says integrations must use HTTP or ODBC from a local Windows computer because third-party apps cannot be installed in Cloud Access.
Official source →The current Cloud Access FAQ allows sync permission for only one user at a time; it must be disabled before another user can receive it.
Official source →Once the voucher becomes part of the books, Tally says the imported PDF or image cannot be viewed from that flow.
Official source →A credible comparison should say this plainly—but it should not hide the larger workflow gap.
Confirm master data, opening balances, statutory history, outstanding items, attachments, bank setup and the cut-over period before anything becomes authoritative.
Cyntrova should recommend a migration path only after reviewing the actual company data and required modules.
Discuss your current workflowFor teams ready to replace fragmented handoffs with one controlled financial workflow, Cyntrova is the stronger choice.
